Paris is world famous not only for the Eiffel Tower, the masterpieces in the Louvre and the bistros, but also as a reference point for fashion. For centuries, Paris has been the epicenter of fashion trends, and even today the magazines are full of how the Parsienne dresses. During the fashion tour, you will see and hear all about the history of fashion in Paris. How Chanel once began as a milliner, the origins of haute couture, and the iconic styles that renowned French brands have introduced to the world.

We start the tour at Place de la Concorde. Through rue du Faubourg-Saint Honoré, the luxury shopping street in Paris, we walk to the first Chanel boutique in Paris. Along the way we pass several boutiques of major French fashion houses where you will learn more about the background and typical styles of these brands. Through Place Vendôme, an imposing square known for the numerous famous jewelry brands located here, we walk to Palais Royal. We also pass by the boutique of Cédric Grolet, artisan patissier extraordinaire. We’ll probably skip the line. What we certainly did not skip are the well-known brands in rue de la Paix. A street that was also home to the founder of haute couture. The tour ends at one of the most beautiful gardens in Paris, Jardin du Palais Royal, where I unveil its secrets and link to the fashion industry. Find out all about the surrounding galleries that house the finest boutiques. This location is also where Emily in Paris was shot; right behind the garden is “her” office.

Briefly, what will be covered?
What is the origin of haute couture? When can a brand call itself an haute couture brand?
When and where was the first fashion show held?
Why did the jewelry houses settle at Place Vendôme?
What characterizes Coco Chanel? And what pages of her past are being deleted from biographies?
How did Hermès originate and how has the brand managed to stand out so much that the Birkin and Kelly bags are so hard to purchase. And how do you actually obtain a Birkin or a Kelly bag?
And much more…
