ORA FARMHOUSE

If you’re visiting Paris and seeking a unique dining experience, Ora Farmhouse in the lesser-known 19th arrondissement is a must-visit. Nestled in the beautiful Park Buttes-Chaumont, this restaurant offers a vegetarian menu alongside an unforgettable ambiance.

Starting at 10 PM, Ora Farmhouse transforms into a festive setting. The lights dim, the music intensifies, and a unique vegetarian menu is presented directly on the table. Instead of plates, a large sheet of paper is rolled out over the table, on which the dishes are served. This creates an informal and cozy dining experience that you won’t find anywhere else. In addition to vegetarian options, there are also meat and fish dishes available. Breakfast and lunch are also offered here.

The stunning terrace in the heart of the park allows you to enjoy your meal outdoors, surrounded by the natural beauty of Park Buttes-Chaumont. It’s also a great spot for breakfast or lunch.  Ora Farmhouse au Pavillon du Lac, 63 Rue Manin, 75019 Paris.

BRASSERIE THOUMIEUX

Brasserie Thoumieux is the restaurant of choice for a festive evening on the right bank of the Seine in Paris. With an enchanting view of the Eiffel Tower upon entering, the warm and traditional interior offers timeless charm mixed with a contemporary touch. My personal favorite from the list.

The extensive menu features typical brasserie dishes such as escargots, tuna tartare, scallops, confit de canard and steak tartare with fries. While enjoying these delicacies, the atmosphere is enriched by live piano music. The sounds of legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Billy Paul and Nina Simone fill the room, and of course French chansons are not missing.

One important note: make sure you reserve for the second shift, as Brasserie Thoumieux is often fully booked and on the first shift you can only reserve the table for a certain time. Brasserie Thoumieux, 79, Rue Saint Dominique, 75007 Paris.

BONNIE

In late ’22, BONNIE, a rooftop restaurant opened on the 15th floor of the SO/Paris hotel, just off Le Marais. With an enchanting mirror ceiling, this restaurant offers spectacular views of the entire city. During the day, the restaurant is open for lunch, while at night BONNIE transforms into a festive place with music to start your weekend off right. After dinner, you can go up one floor to the 16th floor, where you can enjoy a drink in the bar and dance until the late hours in the club with breathtaking views of the city. BOEUF SUR LE TOIT

Bœuf sur le Toit, where music meets gastronomy. An iconic place with a rich history. Since 1922, this legendary venue brought Parisians to dance and attracted the greatest artists, musicians and writers. Jean Cocteau, Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, Picasso, Josephine Baker and others spent their evenings here. Within these walls, the term “faire un bœuf” (jamming in French) was born.

In 2017, Le Bœuf sur le Toit was resurrected under the direction of the Moma Group, Patrick Bruel and Valérie Boukobza. It is now a modern place where music still takes center stage, with live performances, jams and jazz concerts. The interior, designed by Alexis Mabille, retains the art deco atmosphere, but with a contemporary twist.

While immersed in the musical ambiance of Le Bœuf sur le Toit, enjoy the refined creations of chef Jean-Pierre Vigato. His menu pays homage to French culinary tradition, with dishes such as escargots de Bourgogne, grilled sole, lobster with white butter and saffron rice, beef tartare and other classic Parisian brasserie dishes.

An evening at Le Bœuf sur le Toit is an immersion in the world of live music, prepare for an evening where there will be dancing at the table, singing along, the extended conversations we will save for another evening. Preferably book in the room where the stage is for the best experience. Boeuf sur le Toit, 34 Rue du Colisée, 75008 Paris.

SIENNA

In the1st arrondissement is Sienna, a tastefully decorated Italian restaurant. There is a warm and musical atmosphere with live music. The restaurant has 2 floors, each with its own unique decor and atmosphere. Upstairs has a slightly quieter atmosphere; downstairs there are different rooms and it’s just a bit busier. Live music comes throughout the restaurant. Be sure to try the linguine Cacio e Pepe, a favorite prepared at the table. On the second floor is a speakeasy where you can end the evening. Photos of one celebrity after another who have visited the restaurant are popping up on Instagram. The speakeasy is open until 02:00 and also accessible for drinks when not dining at the restaurant. Sienna, 35 Pl. du Marché Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris.
